Job Role: Software Engineer (Development or Testing)

Role Overview:

As a Software Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to support the development or testing of projects, work with product owners and stakeholders, and deliver high-quality solutions. Whether your expertise lies in application development, testing, or maintenance, you will be essential in ensuring project success and enhancing customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Support: Work with your team to create, maintain, support, and implement software development or testing projects as assigned. You’ll be involved in both front-end and back-end activities, contributing to the full project life cycle.

• Requirements Gathering: Collaborate closely with product owners and business stakeholders to understand the product vision and requirements. Translate these into actionable tasks and timelines to drive the project forward.

• Process Improvements: Constantly seek opportunities for process optimization by understanding assigned work areas deeply. Look for areas to introduce automation, improving workflow and efficiency.

• Team Leadership: Lead the transfer of complex technical knowledge to team members and subject matter experts. Guide your peers by ensuring they understand the process, deadlines, and overall project goals.

• Reporting and Communication: Keep project stakeholders informed about progress through accurate and timely reporting. Establish and maintain open communication channels with clients, customers, and team members to resolve any issues and meet expectations.

• Skill Development: Continuously enhance your technical and soft skills to remain ahead of industry standards. Provide feedback to SMEs, Leads, and Managers to foster a collaborative, feedback-driven environment.

• Customer Satisfaction: Oversee performance and quality to guarantee satisfaction across all project deliveries. Provide regular coaching and feedback to your team and contribute to the organization’s larger goal of playing as "One Sutherland Team."

Qualifications and Skills Required:

• Educational Background:

  • BE / BTech (CSE, IT), B.Sc. (Computers), BCA / MCA, or other Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees in Computing/IT are preferred.

• Domain Experience:

  • Relevant experience in Software Development or Testing, with additional experience in Healthcare IT or IT Services Delivery domains being advantageous.

• Communication Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey complex ideas clearly and constructively.

• Technical Competencies:

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment. Experience in leading or supporting software projects.

• Personality Traits:

  • Strong sense of ownership, time-management skills, and attention to detail. Ability to develop trust within the team and work effectively as a team player.

• Critical Thinking:

  • A strategic thinker who can identify solutions and opportunities for improvement in both processes and outcomes.
