Role & Responsibilities

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing data solutions that enhance our analytics capabilities. Your key responsibilities will include:

• ETL Development: Utilize your 2+ years of experience as an ETL developer to design, develop, and optimize data processing solutions. Your strong knowledge of data architecture and data warehousing concepts will be crucial in this role.

• Automation and Integration: Leverage Python to automate ETL and data processing jobs, ensuring efficient workflows and streamlined operations. You will also design and develop ETL solutions using various data integration tools and cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.

• Data Quality Management: Work closely with the data analytics team to identify and troubleshoot potential data quality issues. This includes validating control totals at intake and during transformations to ensure data integrity.

• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data mappings, data dictionaries, and processes as per established data governance standards, ensuring transparency and clarity in data management.

• Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize data processes and SQL queries, implementing performance tuning techniques to enhance overall system efficiency.

• Collaboration: Engage with cross-functional teams to assess business requirements and provide data solutions that align with organizational goals.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

• Educational Background: B.Tech in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Professional Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as an ETL developer with a solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, SQL development, and operational support models.

• Technical Proficiency:

  • Strong experience in Python for automating ETL and data processes.
  • Familiarity with AWS Glue, AWS Data Pipeline, or Azure Data Factory for data integration is highly desirable.
  • Solid experience with data modeling, business logic, and RESTful APIs.
  • Proficiency in working with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL.

• Linux Environment: Experience working in a Linux environment and familiarity with tools like NGINX and SSL.

• Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to assess and troubleshoot data quality issues effectively.

• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and document processes clearly.
