Key Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Strong Java Programming Skills: Proficiency in Java, with a solid understanding of data structures and object-oriented programming.
- API Testing and Automation: Familiarity with TestNG, JUnit, and Rest Assured, and experience automating REST API testing.
- CI/CD and Version Control: Hands-on experience with Jenkins, Maven, and Git for continuous integration and version control.
- Design Patterns & Scalable Software: Knowledge of design patterns and scalable software design principles, with a focus on best practices.
- Modern Testing Methodologies: Proven experience with test strategies, automation, regression testing, and defect management.
- Technical Aptitude: Ability to understand and reason about software architectures, including distributed systems, load balancing, caching, and queueing.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting abilities, with keen attention to detail.
- Additional Skills: Knowledge of Python, JavaScript, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and Splunk is a plus.
Role Overview
As a Software Development Test Engineer (Java) in Adobe’s End-to-End (E2E) Quality Team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, functionality, and performance of Adobe’s Cloud platform. You’ll work with a talented group of engineers to automate test cases, create robust testing frameworks, and actively contribute to every stage of the software development lifecycle. This role combines development and testing skills, providing a comprehensive exposure to quality engineering in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
In this position, your responsibilities will include:
End-to-End Test Strategy Development
- Develop and drive comprehensive test strategies to ensure the quality, performance, and scalability of Adobe’s products.
- Design and implement test cases for new features, with an eye on functionality and non-functional requirements (NFRs).
Collaborative Development and Testing
- Work closely with development teams to design and deliver key product features and participate in code reviews.
- Collaborate on test plans, test harnesses, and automation for end-to-end testing, defect management, and regression testing.
Automation Ownership
- Own and complete the automation of assigned features, ensuring full coverage for critical functionalities.
- Leverage automation tools to simplify testing processes and drive continuous improvements in test coverage.
Quality Advocacy and Customer-Centric Testing
- Advocate for the end user by designing tests from a customer perspective, ensuring a seamless and high-quality experience.
- Perform risk analysis and defect containment to minimize impact on customers and ensure timely releases.
Technical Growth and Mentorship
- Provide technical expertise to projects and guide other team members in best practices for testing and quality assurance.
- Contribute to team knowledge by sharing insights, participating in team discussions, and growing the technical skills within the team.
Continuous Improvement
- Implement and contribute to test automation, continuous improvement initiatives, and best practices in agile environments.
- Use data-driven insights to refine testing processes, reduce manual efforts, and increase productivity.
