Job Overview:
Genpact is actively hiring fresh graduates and experienced professionals for the role of Software Consultant - Storage & Backup Ops Engineer. This role is ideal for individuals who want to gain hands-on experience in storage management, backup solutions, and IT infrastructure within a dynamic global environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in managing storage systems, including Storage Area Networks (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) to ensure optimal performance and availability.
Support backup configuration, monitoring, and maintenance for data integrity and recovery.
Provide L1/L2 support for storage and backup-related incidents, troubleshooting and escalating as needed.
Monitor storage and backup performance metrics, identifying opportunities for optimization.
Maintain documentation for storage and backup configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting.
Implement and adhere to security best practices and compliance requirements.
Work collaboratively with network engineers, system administrators, and other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and efficient operations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Basic knowledge of storage technologies such as SAN, NAS, RAID configurations.
Familiarity with backup solutions and methodologies (tape backup, disk-based backup, cloud backup).
Experience with storage management tools and monitoring systems.
Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python for automation.
Exposure to enterprise backup software such as Veritas NetBackup, Commvault, or Veeam.
Certifications related to storage and backup technologies (CompTIA Storage+, EMC Proven Professional) are an added advantage.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment.
Good communication skills to interact effectively with team members and clients.
